Please join us at 8:00 pm on Thursday March 9 as part of the studio audience at the Registry Theatre as we approach St Patrick's Day for a concert featuring Waterloo Region's Irishborn singer/songwriter and story-teller Michael Kelly Cavan. The show is being recorded live for later broadcast on YouTube, a first for the Registry Theatre.
The intimate acoustics and setting of the Registry will make for a warm and engaging evening. The show is being recorded live for later broadcast on YouTube, a first for the Registry Theatre. We want audiences around the world to see what a marvellous jewel this venue is, and to hear Michael and his unique brand of song writing and the deep sense of who he is that comes through his music.
Cavan has been compared with John Denver and with John McDermott, for whom he has opened for on tour. You'll be captivated by his warm Irish charm and songs about life and love with a Canadian twist.
Tickets are pay-what-you-can, suggested price $10 to help offset the costs for the evening.
Here is an article that was published in the Waterloo Record just prior to my concert a few weeks ago. I like how the reporter captured my history and my music. A big thank you to Valerie Hill.
For those out and about on the August long weekend, I will be doing my annual Concert in Queens Park, Stratford on Sunday, August 2nd at 7pm. There's usually a great turnout. Come and have a picnic before the show,as many do and be sure to bring your own lawn chairs.
Just finished a busy Christmas season of gigs... The trouble with Christmas gigging is you just get used to the repertoire when you have to put them all away until next December. Then you pull them out again, dust them off and just as you're getting into the groove.......well. you know.
